Have you ever wondered where 'second thoughts' come from?

Doubt 1 of 2 ... Is it just me, or does it sometimes feel like there’s a part of our brain, a bit like a ‘doubt factory’, that manufactures and presents doubts to us at the worst possible times? …. Sometimes totally jeopardising what once felt like a fabulous plan.

This week, one of my clients was struggling to define goals for themself and their business.  It’s more common than you might think. It can be a lot easier to define what we don’t want than what we do; especially if you’ve experienced the ‘unwanted’ scenario first-hand already.

As humans we're driven either towards something fabulous or away from something bad … your personality will influence this to a degree. The trouble with ‘don’t want’ is that it’s similar energy to ‘need’' … they’re feelings where you hand over your power to an external influence.

If you’re a regular reader of my posts, you’ll be aware that as humans we're programmed in a way that change is ‘scary’ for our subconscious, it’s part of our survival evolution. So when you’re going after something different, it's 'human' to get triggered and you probably won't know why. Let’s keep it simple and call these triggers ‘second thoughts’ … and they’re ok by the way. It’s nature’s way of keeping you safe, it’s our own internal version of an ‘are you sure?’

Trouble is, when you’re in a low energy vibe, you’re already on high alert, so those second thoughts can seem really big … almost like you’re being ‘tested’, or feeling like you’re being guided away from your original plan ... because they're usually from an unconscious part of our mind, we don't know why we're having them, and that scares us even more.

What can you do about it? … join us in part 2 next week to find out.
